Hokuliaupdate.com is being designed to provide information on projects which the Hōkūli‘a developer, 1250 Oceanside Partners, is undertaking with the guidance and support of many community members, to serve the Kona community.
Hōkūli‘a is a 1540-acre development located in Kona on the west coast of the Island of Hawaii. Once completed, Hōkūli‘a will be home to as many as 665 families. Hōkūli‘a will also include a 140-acre public shoreline park and many previously unidentified and now protected cultural sites. In addition, Hōkūli‘a will feature a golf course and related amenities, where we regularly host events in support of community and charitable organizations. As part of our development, our company has committed to making several meaningful contributions to the broader community, and it is these important activities that we will communicate about through this website, Hokuliaupdate.com. For example, we have agreed to build a new and much-needed public highway, which will significantly ease traffic congestion for the people of Kona. We have also committed to cause 100 or more units of affordable housing to be built in Kona, to complete a 140-acre public shoreline park spanning about three miles of coastline, to add additional parking and recreational facilities to the Kona Scenic Park, and to conduct a baseline water quality study along an approximately 11-mile stretch of the Kona coast.
